Eskandar

Known only by his first name, Eskandar founded his eponymous label in 1991 and with an English mother and Persian father, draws inspiration from different cultures to create unstudied pieces that have a distinctly bohemian air. He nods to Iznic and Moorish tiles with intricate patterns and has a particular penchant for lightweight knitted pieces – his grandmother taught him how to knit when he was young. Expect effortless tops, wide trousers and kimonos that nod to the designer’s extensive archive of French peasant, Tibetan, Chinese and Japanese textiles.
